Car clock springs (also often called airbag springs) are key electrical rotary connectors used in car airbags, usually installed under the car steering wheel. It is a current transmission device with a high reliability connection between two relatively rotating parts. Car clock springs are mainly composed of the following parts:
Flexible flat cable: This cable is designed to maintain stable transmission of electrical signals when bent and twisted.
Relatively rotating housing: The housing provides a protective and supporting structure for the clock spring, allowing the internal flexible flat cable to move between two relatively rotating parts.
Wire harness (conductive lead): The wire harness is the wire leading out of the clock spring, which is used to transmit electrical signals to other electrical components.
Connector: The connector is used to connect the clock spring with other electrical components (such as the electronic control unit of the airbag).
